Caltrain Express Service starts June 7th

In what has to be some of the most exciting news for my commute, Caltrain is set to launch it's Baby Bullet Express service which will get me from San Francisco to Mountain View in 45 minutes (currently it takes anywhere from 69-78 minutes). Right now, I can currently drive from SF to MV in about 45 minutes which makes the current commute time on the train less than appealing.

The big day is June 7th.

Back on Caltrain

It's been a few months now since I've been on CalTrain. I have been dreading this day for quite a while. Looks like they've made some nice progress on the track improvements. I really can't wait for the baby bullet project to be complete. At that point riding the train will be a viable alternative to driving.

Caltrain hits abandoned car

How interesting. Apparently someone left their car on the track crossings at Burlingame and guess what? A train hit it. Luckily I wasn't affected since this was a northbound train that hit it, but man... I ride the train less and less now and when I do stuff like this happens. Maybe I should just stick to the Road?

Early express train is fast

Well, I took the 7:25 express train that gets into Mountain View at 8:25 am... wow, that is so much faster than the train I take every day. Now if I could only get up this early every day.

Fascinating CalTrain

What in interesting ride home!

It's been a while since I've ridden CalTrain and I was greeted with some fascinating stuff.

Old ladies yapping

Like I need to hear their stories. Clearly they weren't able to understand that everyone on the train could also hear them. I was sitting right next to them... thankfully they got off the train shortly after I sat down

Crazy man wondering around the tracks

The train abruptly stopped and the announcer informed us that some crazy person was wondering around the tracks and that we had to stay till the police arrived. That only took a few minutes, but the train is now delayed by 15 or so min.

Annoying cell phone user

If he wasn’t playing games on his silly phone, with the volume at full blast, he was yapping to some chick he definitely wasn’t dating but he wished he was dating.
