Intel and AMD on Vista

I admit, I'm an Intel man. I love their motherboards, core 2 duo, and so on. However, after reading this I'm a bit perplexed. What the hell is Intel doing waiting for SP1? I mean common.

I may just have to consider AMD next time around.

I'd also like to point out that the nVidia drivers for Vista are crap and featureless. I can't even change resolutions or add custom resolutions using their control panel. Meanwhile ATI (now part of AMD) has awesome Vista drivers.

When I read the AMD memo it just made me proud of the work that folks at Microsoft have done to get Vista out.

I'm writing this post on all the vista features that I love as I find them, but it's taking forever because I keep finding new things. Like did you know that robocopy is built into Vista? Kick ass!

Omar,
It is funny the way processor loyality runs. I used to be a die hard Intel guy, especially when I was an OEM. It just seemed to make sense when putting together machines that you then had to support, make it all Intel from processor to MB and you were destined to have less trouble with the config, unless of course you went with the integrated sound (soundmax???).

When I started to put together my MCE solutions I was all on the 64bit potential and really only had the choice of AMD at that point. I am currently looking at upgrading my main machine and had started to move down the line of Intel again, but this post has convinced me to look at AMD again, coupled with ATI graphics. Out of the two nVidia and two ATI graphics cards I use, the ATI cards are far superior to the nVidia cards especially when I have tried Vista.

Have to say Omar, I am missing you being on Parental leave, the multiple updates a day you were churning out was good reading, now that horrible work thing seems to have slowed you down somewhat.
