Me in the Washington Post about Moleskines

MoleskineLast week I got an email from Dan Morse, a writer for the washington post. He asked me about my How the Moleskine Rocked My World post. Today he published, Putting Pen to Paper Anew, in today’s post (with quotes from me!). Jerry Brito was also quoted in the article. He was one of the first bloggers who helped me discover the little gem.

Pretty cool. If you are still wondering, I’m still using my Moleskine, albeit I’ve switched to a Small Ruled Reporter Notebook.

What I found interesting in the article was this quote:

“Americans are expected to purchase 2.2 million Moleskines this year, up from 970,000 in 2004, according to Modo & Modo, the notebook's Milan-based designer. The national bookstore chain Barnes & Noble counts Washington as its third-largest Moleskine selling ground, trailing New York and Philadelphia. In all, Washingtonians are expected to buy nearly 70,000 Moleskines this year.”

Wow, I wouldn’t mind experiencing that kind of grown in my business :-). I think if they go vertical they can sell even more, like a Getting Things Done edition!

I love Moleskines (and to think they went out of business for a period after the war). I was always wondering how other computer people tend to use them so thanks for linking your previous blog entry, that'll keep me busy!

I love your postings about productivity. But your posting about Moleskin was awesome. Since then I switched from my post-it all over the monitor to a very nice Moleskine Large Ruled Notebook and i love it. Whish only that I could be that organized like you.

I really liked my moleskine, but I've concluded it was too expensive (it costs 10 Euro a piece and it lasted only a week) and the pages are too tickish for me.

I know it is not in same format, but I'm currently testing the Daler-Rowney's Drawpad (http://www.daler-rowney.com/prod_catalogue/ProductPage.asp?category=11&brand=72&ProductID=1190)

It costs 3.50 Euro, paper is much better than in moleskines
and it A5 format gives you really a space to draw.

Cao Esade - we have a Moleskine in A5 format here (or close to it), that's the one I have. I find that although pricey, the quality of Moleskines is pretty good.
