SeaTac sucks

SeaTac has the lamest TSA of any airport I've been to (BOS, JFK, DFW, IAD, SFO, SJC, ORD) recently. For the past two weeks I have returned from SeaTac on a Friday (both afternoon and evening). Both times the lines were 30+ minutes and they were operating less than half the scanners. Unbelievable. I don't understand why that airport is so freaking inefficient. Oh, and Dennis agrees.

I'll also add that there is no good food joint inside the security area. Mickey Mouse airport if you ask me. If they ever move the rental car area outside the main terminal area (like having to take a bus to the cars etc) then I'll just stop going ;-).

At least they have restrooms. Something that can't be said about parts of SJC.

Couldn't agree more. For three years I commuted between SFO and SEA. Two of the worst airports on the planet. SEA at least now has a Burger King which isn't saying much. Pickings are pretty slim compared to say Chicago, Denver, etc.

Also agree on the TSA guys. Every other city appears to have figured it out, except Seattle.

Agreed. I hate flying out of SeaTac. The TSA guys there are running at about 2MHz. The only thing that runs slower than the security screeners are the people who work at the Burger King...

I agree and thanks for the reminder to put a rant on my blog about it too.

My big beef about Seatac is the TSA folks' huge shoe fetish. They want everyone to take their shoes off, all the time. What's up with that?

I couldnt agree more about TSA Sucking at SeaTac, it should be improving soon now that they have Fired the top 4 personal at TSA in Seattle. The Port of Seattle is adding about 10 new resturants by the new Central Checkpoint (Replacing the B and C Chekcpoints) These resturants will be widly accessible to passengers flying out of B, C, and D gates. I fly out of SeaTac 2 times a week on Business, i've learned if you take afternoon flights the waits at TSA is far less

You folks just like to sit and cry about the lamest of things. Be happy you can at least fly with some sense of mind that the plane is not going to be used as a missile or weapon. So, sit there and throw a pity party because you had to take your shoes off at an airport( and believe me, they do smell like corn chips!). If you don't want to take your shoes off get a pair without metal in them and you won't have that problem. Getting off the subject here so let me just finish off by saying that your little pathetic attempts to acting like you're royalty gets you nowhere and makes you look like one of Rock Hudson's old butt plugs. Enjoy!

I am a current TSA screener at DFW, I had a gentleman today say that he was flying back to SEA, he commented that there aren't enough screeners at SEA. I am putting in transfer paperwork from DFW to SEA, I wanted PDX since that is where I'm from, but SEA will do for now. I received an email that wait times at DFW during peak hours is 5 minutes or less. Also to comment on the shoes, it is recommended to take off your shoes to speed up your screening process. We are here to help, don't fight us, listen to us and we'll listen to you.

I just moved to Seattle, and I fly out of SeaTac every week. I have yet to have a good day at this place in over a month!

Today, the Delta line was about 200 deep, with about 2 Delta employees working. This is the case with every other airline in the airport I have used as well since moving to the city.

After half the plane almost missing the flight, SeaTac was "nice" enough to hold the plane while we waited in the security line which was about 500 deep!

I fly into JFK and LGA for work, but sometimes have layovers in Dallas, Houston and Denver and Midway once, and I have to say that as I travel almost six THOUSAND miles per WEEK, this airport is enough to drive a sane person crazy.

Sea-Tac, you need help! But at least there is a starbucks......
